Should I build a WordPress website or a custom website?

Difference 1:
WordPress is basically a blog and even in eCommerce all products are considered as post in the database

So for WordPress post can be of type blog or product.

Database structure for categories and products doesn’t follow the typical database standards suitable for eCommerce environment as all has been considered as post.

So till date it is a blog.

But it is cheaper than custom solution and adding it with marketing this makes it attractive

Difference 2:

Lot many plugins are there. Plugin structure is not standard. No authority to verify the quality of the plugin.

Some plugins totally free and some plugins have some basic functions as free and then paid.

When there is no standard then those get outdated when wordpress updates itself and then you are after the programmer to get this fixed

Many instances where website has gone down

All plugins from various vendors and high chance of mismatch

To counter this you need to pay high monthly maintenance fee to keep the website up.

While there is no such thing in Custom coded website

Difference 3:

All wordpress websites have theme. This theme we can buy on very low cost like USD 50.

That means you will install it on a single click and then pay for modifying it as per your needs because all websites using same theme can not have same design of the website.

That means you will be paying higher for this.

Where as in custom coded website all cost is known upfront?

Difference 4:

Wordpress helps you in SEO and for that blogging is must.

Blogging means writing articles and wordpress is good for writing and posting articles.

Where as no such thing in custom coded.

Wordpress may be good for very small information websites but if you have funds then

Get a website without wordpress
and use wordpress only for blogging and writing articles to drive traffic to your website
Others, may have different thoughts and I am not challenging anyone.
